Seth R. Hancock
Los Angeles Criminal Lawyer
Seth R. Hancock is a criminal defense lawyer who has spent his entire career in the trenches — and on the side of the accused. He started out fighting to free people serving life sentences, building habeas petitions on claims of actual innocence, Brady violations, and ineffective assistance of counsel. That first chapter shaped how he practices today: the system gets things wrong, the stakes are always personal, and a defense lawyer’s job is to win. From there he moved to the front lines of LA County trying cases, litigating contested evidentiary hearings, and learning the system inside and out. Since then, Seth has stood beside clients at every stage of a criminal case — from arraignment through trial and post-conviction work unwinding wrongful convictions and the immigration consequences that follow. He earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School and graduated magna cum laude from Cal Poly Pomona, with a minor in philosophy that still shows up in the way he picks apart a prosecutor’s theory. When he’s not in court, you’ll find him cheering on the Angels and the Lakers — usually loudly.
