Southern California Bail Schedules

If you or a loved one has been arrested in Southern California, one of the first questions you may have is how much bail will be required. Bail schedules provide established bail amounts for many criminal offenses and are commonly used before a defendant appears in court.

Because bail schedules are adopted at the county level, the amount listed for a particular offense may vary depending on where the arrest occurred. CBS Law has compiled bail schedules for Los Angeles County and several surrounding Southern California counties to make these resources easier to find in one place. While we try very hard to keep our resources updated the original content in the PDF’s belong to the counties, we have no copy rights to it, we are sharing it here for your convenience.

How Do California Bail Schedules Work?

A bail schedule lists predetermined bail amounts for criminal offenses. These schedules can be used after an arrest to help determine the amount required for release before a defendant appears before a judge.

The amount shown in a bail schedule should not be viewed as a final determination of bail in every case, these can change. Once a defendant appears in court, a judicial officer may consider the charges, circumstances surrounding the case, public safety concerns, criminal history, and other legally relevant factors when determining bail. A lot of factors can go into the final decision.
